Hydro Ottawa has partnered with a team of Algonquin College students to conduct an online focus group about electric
vehicle use and public charging stations. As an electric vehicle owner, your experience and opinion is valuable to us.
Please note that participation in the online focus group activity is limited to those living in Canada who have an
electric vehicle, and that the activities are provided in English only due to limitations of the collaboration software.
The online focus group activities will run from Monday, March 18, 2019, until Sunday, March 24, 2019.
While the online focus group runs for seven days, it will only require a 15-20 minute time commitment from you each day.
The online platform known as Recollective allows you to log in at any time of the day that is convenient for you.
Simply complete a short series of discussion questions and activities each day. There is nothing for you to prepare
in advance of your participation in the focus group.
We know your time is valuable, so upon successful completion of the focus group, you will receive a cheque or
e-transfer for $100. To be eligible for payment, you must log in and complete your tasks every day.
If you agree to participate, you will be assigned a private Recollective username. The information you share
will be provided by the facilitators to Hydro Ottawa and the project team anonymized and in a manner not traceable
to an individual. This information will be used for the purpose of potentially helping develop a customer centric
solution to electric vehicle infrastructure that includes a user-friendly application. By agreeing to participate,
the anonymized information and any derivative will be owned by Hydro Ottawa.
By agreeing to participate in the EV Focus Project you:
1. Consent to the collection, use, disclosure and other handling of any information you provide in Recollective for
the purposes relating and in connection to the EV Focus Project;
2. Acknowledge and agree that Hydro Ottawa will solely own the Anonymized Data and any derivative thereof;
3. Agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Project Operators from and against any and all loss, damage or
injury to persons or property, including without limitation any economic loss, loss of good will, loss of profit or any
direct, indirect, special or consequential damages, and any costs or losses, expenses, fees, liabilities (including
settlements and judgments), allegations, causes of action, suits, proceedings, debts, penalties and demands arising
therefrom or connected therewith or of any nature or kind whatsoever asserted against or suffered by you in relating to,
in connection with, arising from, or arising out of: (i) any claim, whether actual or threatened, or occurrence or event
related to, any third party relating to EV Focus Project; (ii) the negligence or wilful misconduct of the Project Operators,
except in either case to the extent that any injury or damage related to such claim, occurrence or event is attributable
to the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of the Project Operators; (iii) any matter related to the EV Focus Project,
including, without limitation, any acts or omissions of any of the Project Operators. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify,
defend and hold harmless the Project Operators if you or any other third party seeks damages against any of the Project
Operators for any reason that is connected with the EV Focus Project.
Raed Abdullah, Hydro Ottawa Distribution Engineer, will act as the single point of contact for all questions and issues relating to the
EV Focus Project. Questions regarding the EV Focus Project shall be directed to:
