At the end of the hour it was clear that we had 10 winners! The vehicles and their teams all acquitted themselves so well it was hard to believe this was a first-time event. However, some vehicles did perform better than others, so we handed out a few awards.
All competing teams were presented with "speeding tickets" (actually certificates) showing their highest recorded speed using the Ontario Provincial Police radar unit. The highest speed recorded for the day was 52 km/h by Arnprior District High School.

The distances traveled shown for each team are for completed laps only. The relative positions on the track were used to determine placing in the event there was a tie for the number of completed laps. The EVCO demonstration vehicle (#98) did participate on the track, but was not eligible for prizes, and the official lap counters did not record its performance.

Awarded for the vehicle that most impressed our inspectors for design, craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Albert McMahon Memorial Award (Trophy and $200 from Darryl H. McMahon, Consulting)
Awarded to the high school team that best demonstrated widespread involvement throughout the school and the community in the design, construction and operation of its vehicle.
